Cyber Week with Urban Planet

Urban Planet has officially extended Cyber Monday to Cyber Week. So if you didn’t get enough of your shopping in already, no need to worry Urban Planet has your back. The best advice I can give you for the holiday season is don’t miss out on this opportunity. Get your holiday shopping started or your personal shopping works too! It’s so hard not to give in and shop for yourself with all these great deals.

A Regular Day in Basics

Every fall/winter I invest in a few basic items that are essential to have. Two of those basic items include a simple hoodie, preferably black and a jogger. Or maybe I should say a couple hoodies because I always end buying more than one. Basic items are great to own because they’re just so easy for mornings when you’re running late and don’t have enough time to pick out an outfit. You can also mix & match basics, and pair them with almost anything.

It’s Never Too Cold for Mini Skirts

I know it’s getting a bit too cold for skirts, but flare mini skirts have been trendier than ever this season. Keep warm and wear them with a knit turtleneck sweater and over-the-knee boots, or ankle boots. As long as you layer up everywhere else this trend will be easier than ever to pull off. AND if you’re not into flare skirts go for your tight-fitting mini skirt (any skirts are welcome this season) – add a knit sweater or long sleeve top and boots…voila.

Wrapped in a Blouse

Does anybody else know that you can wear wrap blouses two ways? You can wear it the normal way the way you’re supposed to wear it – tied to the left side, or you can tie it in the middle. Wearing it to the left side gives you a more sophisticated look, as to wearing it tied to the middle gives you a sexier look. Wear your wrap blouse with jeans or dress it up with trousers and pointed-toe heels.

Glowing in Neon

If you haven’t already seen all the Instagram posts of Kim Kardashian in neon it’s time you do. You’ll want to get on the neon bandwagon in seconds. First there was the neon pink dress, then the neon green two-piece – there’s no reason to resist this neon trend that has snuck into the fashion scene so rapidly. I would go for a neon two-piece, skirt and top paired with strap heels for a night out with my girlfriends. But if I was feeling more on the sporty side, I would opt for a two-piece neon orange set, leggings and top.

Cargo Style Joggers are the Best Type of Joggers

Cargo pants have been my favorite trend this year and hopefully they’ll be even trendier next year. You can go for an all sporty look – pair them with dad sneakers and a long sleeve top. OR you can go for a military look and pair them with high heeled combat boots, or even strap heels. They’re also tons of incredible cargo pants to choose from – so if camofluage prints and oversized, mysteriously placed pockets may not be for your thing, then simpler utility styles may better suit you. AND I promise once you give them a try you’ll want to invest in more than one pair.

Perks of Bodysuits

The best thing about bodysuits is that you don’t have to worry about your shirt untucking. AND not having to worry about your blouse popping out every 5 seconds and having to thrust your hand down your skirts or pants to keep it in place. They’re also great for showing of your curves, sucking everything in and holding everything up, but they also pair perfectly with high waisted anything. You can find bodysuits in any style: strapless, button-up, spaghetti strap and so on. Pair it with your favorite high waisted denim jeans, an oversized denim jacket and ankle booties.

Add the Finishing Touches to Your Outfit

Accessories come a long way with any outfit especially if you dress more on the simple side. You can always add a crossbody or fanny pack of color to spice up your look in seconds. OR if you’re not into flashy bags opt for a beret. I would wear black denim jeans with a black top paired with black ankle boots and a red beret. Add some red lipstick and you’re good to go! If I didn’t want to go the all black route I would wear red ankle boots to match my red beret. If you’re not the hat kind of gal thrown on a printed scarf. The options for accessorizing are endless.
