Mother’s Day Activities

Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate women and the close relationships we share with the caregivers, family members, and loved one in our lives. No matter who fits the “mom” title for you. Bountiful flowers and sweet treats are certainly appreciated by any parent on Mother’s Day, but why not plan something different this year, like an experience she’ll never forget. Whether you get her a gift or not, it’s always nice to celebrate the entire day with her in mind. Plan your whole day around activities you know she’ll enjoy. Here are some special things you can do for your mom on Mother’s Day:

Book a spa day.

Many moms spend most of their time caring for everyone else, and they tend to neglect themselves. Make an appointment for her to be pampered at your local day spa. I’m sure she’ll love getting pampered, having her hair done, getting a massage, and having a pedicure.

Treat her to a weekend getaway.

Plan on spending the weekend doing something that she loves. Whether it’s going hiking, bicycling, sight-seeing, or she’s more of a bed and breakfast type of mom.

Cook her a special meal.

Find out what her favorite special meal is and cook it for her. There’s nothing more special than a nice cooked meal from the person you love. Get some champagne or wine to go with your cooked meal and you’re good to go.

Spend the day at a winery.

Does your mom love wine? Take her to a winery for the day, where you can have a tasting of all the different wine selection. Don’t forget to order a cheese platter, it goes great with wine. You can thank me later!

Take the family on a hike.

Head out on a scenic hike with mom. Bring out your phone only when its time to snap a family selfie at the top.

Have a wine and paint night.

Mom will love sipping on Chardonnay while spending quality time with her favorite people. You can also have your own wine and paint night at home by hosting this trendy activity.

Enjoy brunch together.

Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, which is also the universal day for brunch. So why not have a delicious brunch with some mimosas. Treat mom to her favorite place – just remember to make reservation ahead of time.

Take a cooking class.

Get out of your comfort zone and go to a cooking class where the two of you can learn a new recipe together. Whether you choose a class that does season home cooks or baking, there’s a class you’ll both enjoy.
