Winter Fashion Trends

winterIn the winter, there’s always that one thing that crosses our minds in the mornings: how did it get this cold?! Winter is the season where we really start bundling up in multiple layers, adding scarves, boots, and tights under jeans. It’s season that brings all the fun, holiday festivities in which you spend time with friends and family…what a time to be alive! Winter is also holiday shopping season. Regardless of fashion trends, velvet fabrics, embellished clothing, heavy outerwear, and party dresses are the go-to this season. Snowy winter days and cold nights call for Netflix and chill with a cup of hot chocolate. I know they say fall is the season for catching up on all your binge-watching shows, but I think winter takes the win this time.

Winter Holidays and Activities

We are so lucky that most holidays fall in the winter because if they didn’t this would be one very boring season with absolutely nothing to look forward to, except maybe snowboarding, if you’re not afraid of heights. But, who doesn’t look forward to the holiday season and all the traditions that come along with it. Some traditions may include putting up the tree and all the Christmas decorations with family on Thanksgiving Day or going Christmas shopping with your mom on Black Friday morning (if you’re one of the smart ones who doesn’t leave Christmas shopping for the last minute…guilty). Let’s not forget your annual Christmas party at work (I’m sure you look forward to that every year), or the ugly Christmas sweater party you plan every year with your friends. But, the best part of all is spending the holiday season with those you love, those that you don’t get to see as often as you would like, due to school or work. AND since the holidays are all about eating without resisting all the sweets that get thrown your way…New Year’s comes along for you to start with a fresh new slate. You know the whole new year, new me spiel! Reminder Alert! Take in the new year with new goals and dreams to accomplish.

Winter Color Trends

Winter color trends aren’t any different than fall. If you haven’t already noticed, bright and bold colors are all the talk this season. Anything from pastels to neon colors and the neutrals to shimmering silver. My favorite this year has to be the shimmering silver with black which I feel truly never goes out of style because it’s so universally flattering. This winter season we’ll be seeing more high-shine options in black, such as patent leather and latex. All these winter color trends are the perfect way to make you look more elegant than ever for the holiday season.

Winter Fashion Trends

Coat and boot season is here, and I couldn’t be any happier. Coats have become such a fashion statement, with many different styles to choose from – plaid, cheetah print, vinyl – making your outfit look extra chic for the winter season. Teddy coats are also the latest trend this winter; they’re extra soft and warm. In fact, the texture of this coat feels the same as an old teddy bear you once used to snuggle up to as a kid, hence the name. From wonderfully colorful to neutral tones, cropped variations or elongated types, the real beauty of a teddy coat is that it is undeniably cozy. I know it can be hard to transition from one season to another, but it doesn’t have to be as complicated as you think. Don’t want to let go of those mini skirts you love so much? Slip on a pair of over-the-knee boots to keep you warm. If you haven’t already pulled out your turtlenecks for this winter, then it’s time you do. Neon turtlenecks like in a lime green have been super trendy; you can pair them with a black puffer jacket to give your look a pop of color. Last but not least..boots! Boots are a fashion statement that you must invest in – ankle boots, mid-calf boots, or over-the-knee boots. Boots are so versatile, you can style them with anything, from skirts to dresses and denim jeans to joggers.
