Spontaneous Activities For An Exciting Summer

Between the bright shining sun and the clear blue sky, summer is the best time to go on spontaneous adventures and have fun. Whether you like to explore alone as a form of self-care, go out with friends, or venture out with that special someone, summer is the best season for breaking out of your comfort zone and going on adventures. If you’re struggling to think of fun summer activities, don’t worry. There is always something fun to do regardless of your age or budget. With that said, here are some spontaneous activities that will get you off the couch and having fun this summer!

Head To The Beach, Pool & Lake

Everyone knows that summer is the season to get in the water. Break out your cutest bikini or one-piece bathing suit and hit the pool. Go on a hike to a lake and dive on in. Hit the beach in style with your best friends. There’s nothing better than a dip in the water to beat the summer heat. Not into swimming? Fear not! You don’t have to like swimming to enjoy a nice and relaxing trip to a beach or lake. If you don’t plan on actually going in the water, bring some magazines or a book to read while you lie out and soak up the sun. Collect seashells for someone you care about. Bring a sketchpad or journal and get some inspiration from the sea. No matter what you end up doing by the water, don’t forget to take plenty of cute summer pics for your feed!

Two Words: Road Trip!

Is there any place you’ve been dying to visit but haven’t yet? Well, what are you waiting for? Now’s the time to go explore! Fill your car with gas, grab some friends or significant other, and go on a trip to somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. Be sure to pack plenty of water, snacks, and cash for a trip filled with heart-to-hearts and radio sing-a-longs. Whether you plan it all out a few days in advance or just do it all on a whim, this will be a great time for you to explore and get closer with the people you care about.

Take A Hike & Explore The Great Outdoors

The great outdoors are wondrous and beautiful, so why not experience all they have to offer? Go for a hike in the woods or the mountains to enjoy some nice scenic views and get immersed in nature. Many people have said that hiking is a great way to de-stress, clear the mind, and reflect. No matter where you go, you will surely have fun taking in some peaceful views of trees, flowers, mountains, or something else for the gram. Who knows, you may even encounter some wildlife on your hike!

Shop Until You Drop

You’re going to need some fresh new summer styles if you want to turn heads wherever you go this August. Bathing suits, sunglasses, and other summery items are usually on sale as stores clear their inventory out for the back-to-school season. Translation: there is no end to the quantity of adorable and affordable summer pieces that for you to snag on the cheap. You could also use the opportunity to get ahead of fall shopping. It’s completely understandable to not want to spend any money, but window-shopping is a perfectly fun alternative! Look around at different stores. Try on every outfit you can get your hands on. In other words, treat yo’ self without spending a dime. Shop your personal style. Shop for home goods and cute décor. Pop into a cute little bookstore and try learning about something new. If you’re looking for simple and indulgent summer fun, shopping for whatever fulfills your heart’s desire.

Bring Some Heat To The Kitchen

Summer is a great time to try out a new hobby, get out of your comfort zone, and get your hands dirty making some delicious food! Whether you want to try to make your own sauce from scratch, bake some fresh cookies for the girls, or make your own smoothie to sip while taking in the sun, cooking and baking is a fun and challenging alternative to your daily Starbucks run. There is a bottomless bounty of easy-to-cook summer food recipes online or in those dusty old cookbooks you’ve been ignoring for years.

If you don’t usually cook or bake and don’t want to tackle anything too advanced, start with something simple like a light pasta salad. If you already like to cook, try making something delicious, exciting, and new. You can’t go wrong with Mediterranean food in the warmer months. Try making some delicious Tabouli and Israeli salad with hummus or Baba Ganoush. If you love what you make, you’ll have learned a new skill that you can repeat for many more years to come. If you don’t like how it came out, at least you’ll be able to say that you tried something new and (hopefully) had fun with it.

You can’t put a price on experience! If the idea of cooking, baking, and washing dishes is not your jam, go out and try out new cuisine. Restaurants and cafes usually have plenty of specials for the summer, so go try a new thing, and maybe you’ll end up having a new favourite food.

Get Out There & Have Some Fun This Summer

Summer is the best time to explore, try new things, and make beautiful long-lasting memories with the people you love the most. Don’t worry about planning out every little detail. Don’t worry about what people will think, and don’t worry about what you’re missing at the office. This is your time to have fun, discover new things about yourself, and make lasting memories.  Forcing yourself to get out of your comfort zone and go on an adventure is one of the best ways to find yourself. With that said, get out there and try some of these spontaneous activities for a summer to remember!
